Nicobar Pigeon

The closest living relative of the extinct dodo bird.

Their iridescent plumage shimmers in green, copper, and blue.

Found only on small islands in Southeast Asia and the Indian Ocean.

Unlike most pigeons, they prefer dense forest and avoid human settlements.

Males perform courtship displays with bowing and cooing.
